Course Overview

The curriculum follows the the AZ-900, AZ-104 and AZ-305 exam objectives and weights them the way the exam does — troubleshooting carries the most marks, so it gets the most lab time. You build environments, break things deliberately, and fix what you did not build.

The course includes hands-on labs, project-based learning, and mock exams so you enter the Azure exams confident and prepared.

Prerequisites for Azure Training

• Basic knowledge of Linux commands and system administration.
• Familiarity with containers (Docker or Podman) and their usage.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals such as IPs, DNS, and firewalls.
• Prior exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, Azure, or GCP) is helpful but not mandatory.
• Basic scripting knowledge (Bash or Python) is an added advantage.
• No prior Azure experience required — fundamentals are covered in the training.

Microsoft Azure Certification Exam Details (AZ-900, AZ-104, AZ-305)

Three separate exams, one career path

These are three separate Microsoft exams, not one. You book each one individually with Pearson VUE, pay for each one separately, and each has its own duration and its own credential. Microsoft owns and publishes all three — there is no third-party certifying body involved. Our programme prepares you for all three in sequence, delivered as live online sessions across India, with classroom sessions available only at our Kharadi campus in Pune.

Everything on this page is taken from Microsoft Learn. Where Microsoft does not publish a number — the exam fee in rupees, the exact question count — we say so instead of guessing. Links to the official pages are at the end of this section so you can check every line yourself.

These are Microsoft’s own domain headings. Only AZ-305 publishes percentage weights, so those are the only weights shown here.

Passing Criteria and Results

• Score needed: 700 or above on a 1–1,000 scale. Because the score is scaled, the same number can represent a different count of correct answers on two different papers — a harder question set needs fewer points.
• When you get your result: for most exams, within minutes of finishing. Exams that include labs take around 30 minutes to score. Either way the result appears in your Microsoft Learn profile within 24 hours.
• What the score report shows: one overall numeric score, pass or fail, and a bar chart of your performance in each skill area. It does not give a numeric score per section, and Microsoft will not tell you which specific questions you answered incorrectly.
• Reading the bar chart: a bar showing above 70% in one section does not mean you passed. Sections carry different numbers of questions, so the bars cannot be added together into an overall result.
• Your certificate and badge: issued through your Microsoft Learn profile, not through any training provider. You claim and share the badge yourself.
• Register with a personal account: Microsoft recommends booking with a personal Microsoft account rather than a work or college one. If you register with an organisational account and later leave that organisation, your exam records are lost and cannot be recovered.
• Free practice before you book: Microsoft publishes free practice assessments and an exam sandbox that shows the real interface and question types. We build these into the programme rather than selling them as an add-on.

Why the projects are split across the three exams

AZ-900 asks you to describe things. AZ-104 asks you to build and operate them. AZ-305 asks you to choose between two defensible designs and justify the choice. The project work below follows that arc: the early labs get you comfortable in the portal and the CLI, the middle ones make you responsible for a running environment, and the last ones put you in front of a requirement that has no single right answer.

Labs run in a real Azure subscription rather than a simulator, so you meet actual resource limits, actual deployment failures and actual billing behaviour. Sessions are live online across India; the same labs run in the classroom at our Kharadi campus in Pune for learners who want to attend in person.

Project List

• Subscription and governance structure: lay out management groups, subscriptions and resource groups for a company with two business units, then apply Azure Policy and a tagging standard so that non-compliant resources are blocked at creation rather than cleaned up later.
• Identity and access with Microsoft Entra ID: create users and groups, assign built-in Azure RBAC roles at the correct scope, then write a custom role when no built-in role fits — and see exactly what breaks when the scope is set one level too high.
• Virtual network design: build a hub-and-spoke topology with subnets, network security groups, VNet peering and a private endpoint for a PaaS service, then trace why traffic that “should work” is being dropped.
• Storage and data protection: configure blob access tiers and lifecycle rules, weigh LRS against ZRS and GRS for a stated recovery requirement, issue a scoped SAS token, and mount an Azure Files share on a virtual machine.
• Compute and scale: deploy virtual machines across availability zones, build a Virtual Machine Scale Set with autoscale rules, and measure what actually happens to response times when a scale event fires in the middle of load.
• Infrastructure as code with Bicep: take an environment you built by hand in the portal and reproduce it as a Bicep deployment, then redeploy it into a second resource group and reconcile every difference you find.
• Load balancing and traffic routing: put Azure Load Balancer, Application Gateway and Azure Front Door in front of the same workload, work out which one the requirement actually calls for, and account for what each costs in latency and operational complexity.
• Backup, restore and disaster recovery: protect virtual machines and file shares with Azure Backup, configure Azure Site Recovery for a second region, then run the failover and record the RPO and RTO you actually achieved rather than the ones on the slide.
• Monitoring and troubleshooting: wire up Azure Monitor with a Log Analytics workspace, write KQL queries against real logs, set alert rules with action groups, and use them to find the cause of a fault an instructor introduced without telling you what it was.
• Cost analysis: read Cost Management for an environment you built, identify the three resources driving the bill, and propose changes — reservations, right-sizing, tier changes — with the saving quantified.
• AZ-305 design case study: given a written business requirement with a budget, a compliance constraint and an availability target, produce an architecture, justify each service choice against the Azure Well-Architected Framework, and defend it when the requirement changes halfway through.

A note on college projects: if your college or university has a fixed project specification, share it with us and we will map the lab work to it where the syllabus allows. If a requirement falls outside what this course covers, we will say so rather than promise to cover it.
